A Statistical Profile of Urban Poverty
(by Clarence Lochhead and Richard Shillington, 1996, 71 pp., #516, $12.00)
For the first time, data were collected and compiled to study poverty at the level of the municipal and metropolitan areas. In this report, data from the 1991 census were used to present a profile of family, individual, and child poverty in different urban centres. It also presented data about national and provincial rates, cross-comparisons between different regional levels, and among cities.
Note: CCSD published another book with a very similar title in 2000: Urban Poverty in Canada: A Statistical Profile
