CCSD Welcomes Gail Dugas as Vice President of Public Affairs
Marcel Lauzière, President of the Canadian Council on Social Development (CCSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gail Dugas as vice-president of Public Affairs.
"I'm very pleased that Gail has accepted to join the CCSD as our new Vice-President of Public Affairs," says Marcel, "She brings to the position an enormous amount of experience, skill and passion that will greatly help us in our efforts to put social development back on the public agenda."
Gail has nearly three decades of experience in media and political affairs.
She most recently worked as the Parliamentary Press Secretary for the Federal Caucus of the New Democratic Party on Parliament Hill.
Previous to that assignment, she was a CBC Television producer, with a primary responsibility for producing political affairs programming for CBC Newsworld’s Politics with Don Newman.
Gail has also worked as a CBC radio producer and broadcaster. Her documentary on adolescent suicide won an ACTRA award.
She produced the CBC Morning Show in Nova Scotia for many years and also worked as a newspaper reporter and editor for the Fredericton Daily Gleaner.
Gail lives in Ottawa and has three daughters.
