Perception is changing

by David Ross

As you may have noticed, this issue of Perception looks different. It is leaner, and articles are shorter than they were in past issues. With rising publication and mailing costs, and access now to new forms of electronic communications, the CCSD is reorganizing its communications efforts. Perception in this new format will continue to bring to you quarterly news about social development issues, and most particularly about the CCSD`s activities. By incorporating Insight, an information series that used to be published separately by the Centre for International Statistics at the CCSD, readers will get information in each issue about important new research underway at the Centre.

But Perception is no longer the CCSD's sole way of keeping members and subscribers informed about activities. Nearly a year ago, we launched our Internet website. For everyone who is now on the information highway, the site provides an important means of communicating news about the CCSD's work, summaries of our current research, and hot links to other social policy and research sites. If you haven't already visited us there, be sure to do so, at www.ccsd.ca.

Meanwhile, we welcome your letters and comments. Tell us what you think of Perception and other information provided by the CCSD. Write to us at the address inside, or e-mail your comments to council@ccsd.ca.
