from HERA Mission

As you know, we launched an organization to support the work of our partners Asembo Bay Women for Development (http://heramission.org/) and the Tumaini Children’s Project (http://tumainichildrensproject.ca/) in Kenya several years ago.

Our 4th Annual HERA Mission Fundraiser is coming up on October 15th, 2014 at TD Place at Landsdowne Park, Ottawa’s breathtaking and newest sports and entertainment venue. This year we are adding some really interesting elements to this already unique event including:

An insider's Football strategy Talk with the Ottawa REDBLACK’s Quarter Back and Coach. Tours of the Stadium and Landsdowne Park. Players and Cheer Squad will also be on hand.

As always we will have one of the best Silent Auctions in Ottawa along with our Kenyan Market Place, African food and Entertainment.

This year we have two ticket options: $200.00 ticket paired with an Ottawa REDBLACKS Club Seat game scheduled for Friday October 24th against the Montreal Alouettes OR a 75.00 ticket for the HERA event.

WEBINAR: 2013 Community Data Roundtable

Measuring financial vulnerability in Canadian cities and communities
Wednesday, June 19, 2013
10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST

A group of national organizations are putting their heads together to design a system for measuring financial vulnerability in Canadian cities and communities. The aim is to move beyond the blunt instruments of low-income cut-off (LICO), low income measure (LIM), and market basket meaure (MBM) and find reliable ways to measure financial vulnerability at municipal and neighbourhood scales.

To learn more about the topics and panelists, download the CDC Roundtable invite.
