Abstract

Building Effective Partnerships:
National Community Research Project (NCRP)

Alfred Gay, Dan Beavon, Raymond Corrado and Irwin Cohen

Sponsored by the National Association of Friendship Centres (NAFC), this session will provide an overview of the National Community Research Project (NCRP). An innovative approach to restorative justice, the NCRP intends to create partnerships with government departments, academics, community workers, criminal justice officials, and First Nation’s communities in order to collect, analyze, and disseminate information regarding Aboriginal victimization, the social and community costs of victimization, the access and delivery of services to Aboriginal victims of crime, and policies affecting Aboriginal victimization in both urban and non-urban contexts.
