Canadian Council on Social Development
The Canadian Council on Social Development (CCSD) is the permanent secretariat for the Canadian Social Welfare Conference.
CCSD is one of Canada’s most authoritative voices promoting better social and economic security for all Canadians. A national, self-supporting organization, the CCSD’s main product is information and its main activity is research, focusing on concerns such as child well-being, economic security, employment, poverty and government social policies.
The Council serves concerned citizens, labour, business, government and social service agencies. As a recognized authority on social and economic issues, the CCSD is widely cited by the media, scholars and decision-makers across the country.
University of Ottawa
The location and special mission of the University of Ottawa make it a reflection of the Canadian experience. Founded in the Canadian capital in 1848, at the juncture of English and French Canada, the University has for more than 150 years maintained strong ties with both linguistic groups. The university serves as a meeting point for two of the most important intellectual traditions of the Western world.
