call for VOLUNTEERS
Interested in attending the Canadian Social Forum? Would you like to help us make a difference? Why not volunteer?
We're looking for energetic, dependable individuals to donate their time. If this sounds like you, we'd love to have you take part in the Canadian Social Forum and become a Volunteer. Think about it - everyone together, in one place for three days − all brainstorming to create sustainable solutions to poverty - and throughout this whirlwind of activity, your efforts will go a long way to making a great Forum!
Volunteering is a great chance to get involved and be part of the action as participants working in community, government, health, justice, research, and business come to Calgary for the CCSD’s inaugural Canadian Social Forum, May 19 to 22, 2009.
You’ll have the opportunity to create new connections with people from every part of the country, help build momentum for real action, collaborate for effective social change and attend some sessions for free!
What you get: Refreshment and/or a meal during your shift. A conference bag and a jump key with materials. A certificate of recognition for your volunteer hours. If you volunteer for a shift you get access to Forum elements free of charge. If you volunteer for 3 shifts you get access to the Thursday evening social event at no charge.
Volunteers are needed for:
- the registration desk
- the information desk
- to assist with the set-up and monitoring of AV equipment
- room monitors
- and more...!
Mark May 19th to 22nd in your calendar and fill out the Volunteer application form by May 1, 2009.
