Bursary Information

The Canadian Council on Social Development has endeavoured to keep registration fees for the Canadian Social Forum as low as possible. However we realize that costs may be a barrier for some groups and individuals.

The Council has approached a number of funders to help us create a bursary program.
So far, we have been successful in earmarking $15,000 from the Agnes Benidickson Fund to facilitate youth participation in the Forum. Information on applying for bursaries from this fund will be available soon.

We are hopeful that our fundraising work for a broader bursary program will result in some good news in the near future.

If you want to be kept up-to-date on possible subsidies, please send an e-mail with your name and contact information to membership@ccsd.ca and indicate “Forum subsidy program” in the subject line of your e-mail.

The CCSD also encourages larger organizations or funders to explore creative ways of sponsoring and assisting the participation of individuals or groups at the Canadian Social Forum.

Privacy Policy

The Canadian Council on Social Development (CCSD) has contracted Golden Planners Inc. (GPI) to act as the Professional Conference Organizers for the Canadian Social Forum 2009.

In order to successfully hold the Canadian Social Forum, CCSD and GPI collect contact information about registrants through the Forum registration forms available on the Conference Website.

Completion and submission of the registration form to CCSD or Golden Planners Inc. provides your consent to CCSD and/or GPI to collect the personal information associated with your registration in order to communicate with you, process your Forum registration, and make any arrangements with third-party service providers pertaining to your participation in the 2009 Canadian Social Forum (including the provision of this personal information necessary to complete your registration or any aspect of your participation).

The achievement of the Forum’s objectives involves, among other things, communicating with and determining the needs of registrants, processing payments relating to attendance at events or event-related services and products, and, upon instruction from CCSD, permitting the Forum’s affiliated organizations, sponsors and/or suppliers to provide products, services and information to registrants.

The Forum may be supported by Sponsors, to whom contact information may be made available, provided registrant consent is obtained during the registration process. Sponsors must provide written agreement to adhere to specific requirements with respect to their use of the information provided. A list of Forum participants, including contact information, may be produced and distributed to registrants. Unless a registrant objects, his/her contact information shall be used for these purposes. Contact information may include a registrant’s name, title, department, organization, address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address as provided on the Forum registration form. If a registrant does not consent, then his/her contact information shall be used by CCSD and GPI for purposes of communicating with the registrant only and shall not be provided to anyone else. In the event that a registrant does not complete the Collection, Use and Disclosure of Information Section, the submission of a Forum registration form constitutes the consent of a registrant to the use of his/her contact information for these purposes.

CCSD and GPI will retain personal information provided to them only for so long as it is required for the purposes stated above. Information about a former registrant is not actively maintained.
